    yes it work on the classic collection version if you want do it here how you do it up+A down+A left+A right+A then you will see a select stage menu choose a stage but don't go in to any act or level once you pick you stage press Y+X make sure Y button or X button are you start button you can pick X or Y it doesn't matter after when you go in to a act you will see a messed up score have fun!
