    Of course, sir! It's the cookie-cutter "homerun bat, quick swing and first hitter" equipment set that you see everyone recommending on the inter tubes because I could not be bothered to think for myself. I'm reasonably sure it's optimal though, so there's little point worrying about it; if it's solved, it's solved. One note though: my Mario has the fast fireball custom to help strike first. Yey~

    It's really good, the CPU players don't even seem to recognize first strike invincibility at all. A good stopping point is if you're lucky enough to get a team battle on Onett. Leave one enemy alive to entertain your teammates and let passing cars give you delicious final battle HP for almost no knockback. Battles with Smash symbols are what you want for getting new hats. Avoid counterers.

    (just making sure: "cookie-cutter" is a synonym of "unoriginal") You just touched on a tricky part of this set-up: having the three right skills on three items that one single character can use. I THINK you're guaranteed to get the right skills in "badge" items (which every character can equip, so they're precious! Don't feed them to amiibos!) by doing the 3DS version challenges.

    If that's not an option for you, I guess just look at all your items (sorted alphabetically to find the skill prefixes easily in the list) and see what you can work with. You may have a good chance of owning a winning combination starting at 1,000 custom parts, if you want a goal to aim for.
