    I beat it by playing 8 fiefs & conquering each one before I attacked computer controlled fiefs. Also, read the e-manual & learn what all the symbols mean. Raise taxes to 60%, then give the peasants at least 1/2 your rice, followed by the soldiers with some rice. This will help keep them loyal to you. There's more, but your better off looking up a strategy guide online. That's what I did.

    I also recommend building up as large of an army as possible as well. Make sure you keep them well trained and their morale high.
