What's the point in mega altaria!? I trained my altaria to be special attack oriented with beneficial nature and I used heat wave on a ferrothorn and it didn't even take it into red.

    Just because I have a pet peeve over people always playing by smogon and treating it for what it is? My DOUBLES team is good. During season 7 rating battles I was just outside and just inside the top 100 US trainers and my team uses none of the top 12 OUs. I think was okay but I can't say it was great since I didn't get to see the full potential of it. I'm sorry I disappointed you with the battle.

    Last thing I'm going to say. I like what smogon does but I do not like how everyone associates official competitive battling with it. I think it's a good idea to use what smogon is aiming for by creating unique teams but the fact is smogon is just a website that created their own rules and Nintendo hosts official tournaments with official rules.

    Hi guys. I have never heard of smogon before, but I think strong trainers battle with nintendo rules(no legendaries, no duplicated items or pkmn, etc) not with rules created by non official sites. It is ok if everyone is using the same strategy. If a strategy is effective, why not use it. This is what I think, I like battle with nintendo official rules.

    @Ace, exactly my point. Every YouTuber who does pokemon videos play in the official VGC using pokemon that are banned according to smogon such as Aegislash so how I feel about this is why scold and argue against the rules that are official. That's like arguing against your teacher's lesson when your source is a website and the teacher's source are physicist documents. There's no contest.

    not many people ever go through with the "no duplicate items. or "no legandaries" I only dont use the uber legands. Regigigas is considered really bad actually. I still use him. Smogon is probobly the most balenced rule-set there is. jus sayin. I still have small respect for good battlers otherwise

    what about pimpnite. one of the best smogon NU battlers known for taking out 3 hacked teams of 6 sturdy shedinjas he lock-on fissure, 6 huge power slakings, and 6 shiny volcanions. he is a full out smogon battler.

    One reason for YouTubers to follow it is because it provides a better fanbase by using NUs and making creative teams and having interesting battles. My doubles team follows Smogon but it just came out that way. How I like to battle is to make a team that doesn't use the top 12 OUs on Battle Spot because then i feel proud of myself for not going complete sweep.

    *rolls eyes* every time I meet someone like you its the SAME FRICKEN THING...I beat them in a battle, tell them what I didn't like, they get mad, speech, debate, something that ALMOST sounds like an apology, and rematch.     Actually, the majority of Battle Spot is ubers. (Aegislash, Salamence-Mega, Kangaskhan-Mega, Blaziken, etc.)
