    Depends on which charm you want. If you want the oval charm, then you just need to see every pokemon in the hoenn dex (except jirachi), you don't need to catch them. If you want the shiny charm, then you need to actually obtain every pokemon in the national dex (except all event-only legendaries).

    It's not impossible. I had all 719 caught in about 95 hours.

    Definitely not as impossible as you might think. Between XY and ORAS you actually can obtain every pokemon necessary for the shiny charm. Although for anything exclusive to the game you don't have, there's always the GTS.

    Yeah, 95. I brought in all my pokés from Diamond, SoulSilver, White, White 2, and Y. Only had about 10 left to get after that.

    The trick is to put up something that people want. Usually just put up something like a starter or an eevee and ask for a more common pokemon you are missing and you'll probably get it in like 5 minutes.

    I just caught them all last night with 75 hours. But if it'll make you feel easier, there are Pokemon that isn't required for the charms. Event excluded Pokemon are not necessary for Dex Completion. Like Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, ect. If it's Event Only, it's not required. Just Pokemon that are or were catchable.
