    Soft resetting. Save in front of the portal of choice. Examine the portal. If it isn't shiny, you reset the game by pressing L, R, start, select simultaeously. This will take you to the opening sequence of the game. Repeat until your shiny pokemon appears. Keep in mind that this may take days, so take breaks when you get tired or frustrated. Do NOT turn off your game, just put 3DS into sleep mode.
