Man, the shiny encounter rate vaties even from game to game! I've been trying to get a shiny Latias on my Eon ticket on OR for six days. In AS, I just soft reset TWICE and got my shiny Lugia. And that's been pretty consistent. AS is like "I love you", and OR is "No pain, no gain".

    Street pass. You have to go out with your 3DS and hope someone that has it passes by. Street pass needs to be activated on your 3DS AND in your game, and if you get it, you'll be notified by your Buzznav.

    It was reversed for me in the originals. Ruby was like "TAKE MY SHINIES" and Sapphire was just "Nope."

    Funny, within a hour of searching in a friend safari, I found a Shiny Gabite. But when I searched for a Shiny Espurr, it took over 8 hours, and I instead found a Munna.

    Seems to be the deal with ORAS. In AS, any wild pokémon will just hop in and be happy, but they absolutely refuse to join me in OR! I've only caught 2 pokémon sucessfully in OR and already at Fortree's gym!

    I think it was... Black where I got jumped by 4 shiny Woobats in one cave. I was just trying to walk - they wouldn't leave me alone.

    WOW! I've never had THAT experience! That is absolutely amazing. I saw a video on Youtube recently where the guy ran into a horde that had TWO shiny Zubats in it!!

    It can help. I didn't find any shinies in X/Y hordes, but I was looking for a Minum in my copy of AS and ran into a shiny Plusle in a horde hunt, and I've seen comments from other players about finding shinies in horde hunts.

    dude my friend was using wonder trade at like 4 this morning he traded a weedle and got a shiny rayquaza! i saw the rayquaza it was black with yellow circle patterns although its from jhoto so it cant mega evolve...

    Yes, it can mega evolve. There's an old woman deep in Meteor Falls cave that will teach the move that enables it to mega-evolve. Go check it out.
