    ID as in Digital Player ID? You don't need to worry about that unless you're participating in a tournament on Pokémon Global Link (which you go to Battle Spot for) or if you're attending an event in the Pokémon Championship Series (Main Menu's Live Competition). As for the updates, download them from the Nintendo eShop.
