I think maybe the best thing to do would be to make a sequel to Awakening for the Wii U, THEN focus on this completely new game for the NEW 3DS.

    I guess you're right in that it needs no sequel. I thought that being as it's so phenominal, it deserved one, but it being so phenominal that it doesn't even need one.

    It also fits into the pattern. Awakening and two other FE games (Sacred Stones and Gaiden) before it had a traversible world map and other features that were different from the other games. Those are the only ones to never get sequels.
