    IVs are essentially values that every pokemon has in all 6 stats. A pokemon has 1 to 31 IVs in each stat. The higher the IVs the better that pokemon's performance in that stat is. IV's cannot be changed after birth or catching however but can be manipulated by breeding. If someone says that a pokemon is xIV it means that the pokemon has perfect IVs in X stats
