    If he does not do the attacks that make him vulnerable, stand further away. His attacks are based on the distance between you and him.

    Yes, if you hold block you can withstand the seed spitting attack and immediately counter with the boomerang.. if the heads all line up horizontally then you can instantly attack with the boomerang.
