    It really depends on what games you want to play. If you are planning to use Amiibos with Smash Bros 3DS or other games, play games that use the Circle Pad, or playing the New 3DS version of Xenoblade Chronicles, then consider upgrading. The New 3DS has a better processor so it loads games faster, the internet loads quicker for downloading and Miiverse.
