    It's a marketing trick. They'll add the tax for the new XL first, THEN subtract the 100, and add the tax from the reduced price there. It's not gonna be $139.99 even without tax. Don't fall for that business trick and be prepared. Though, it's still a good deal. Now move everything on your XL to your 2DS in preparation.
