    Wait till you get to Dewford town, and then get yourself an Aron. They can take a bit of work to train, but they are worth it for the later stages of the game. ;D

    Try to keep your party similar levels so you don't rely too heavily on one pokemon. And try to use pokemon of different attributes to be ready for anything and counter your own weakness so a fire and water type for example.
