    mabey u skipped ahead WAY to much time that u did not talk to your animals and thats when they move away. so if u didnt talk to them mabey they dont want to talk to u. So nobody came to pick u up. .

    Have you visited your villagers? The designers have placed extra code to prevent certain time travels. For example, people want the Museum Shop instantly, so one can't donate 20 items & time travel: they must visit Blathers on 14 different days. Something similar may be in place for your birthday anniversary. (Some people who have time travelled the first month have lost large public works.)
