As someone who trades a lot, let me give you a tip: if you want a jirachi, no less a shiny jirachi, you're going to have to offer something a lot better than a nonshiny aggron, even with a megastone. Jirachi is one of the rarest event pokemon, along with manaphy. Good shinies, especially shiny legends, would work great. Hope that helps, and good luck to you :)

Sure! Are you more interested in breeding or catching? They both have pros and cons.

Sure thing :) The most important aspect to both is patience. I'd recommend having something to keep you entertained on the side, such as watching a movie. It will really help your sanity XD Also, the shiny charm will help immensely with most of the methods. ...

Breeding is great because it gives you the most control of all methods. You can control the pokemon's natures and even IVs, if you wish. The only requirement is that your parent pokemon are of different languages (for example, one from France and one from Italy). It doesn't matter what the languages are, as long as they're different. ...

The easiest method, I've found, is chain fishing, though the downside is you can only get water types, obviously. For that you need the first poke in your party to have the ability suction cups. Then you go to an area and just fish :) Every time you get a bite, you'll need to successfully reel it in to continue the chain. Running doesn't break the chain. ...

You can use the DexNav as well, which is handy because as your search level increases, your pokemon could have hidden abilities, rare moves, or great IVs. This one isn't really "chaining," though; it's not like PokeRadar. Instead, it's like the Friend Safari. Using it in general increases your rate of encounter to about 1/512 for shinies. So a higher search level will not raise the chance. ...

Finally, there's horde encounters and soft resetting. While EV training through hordes, I've accidentally run into 5 different shinies. And you can soft-reset for a starter or any of the post-game legendaries (just not the story ones). All you do is stand right in front of the portal (or bag for the starters) and encounter the poke. Not shiny? L+R+Start :) ...

That's it for the different methods. I'd recommend giving them all a try and see which one works best for YOU. Like I said, the most important thing is to have patience :) I can confirm that the shiny charm helps immensely, but either way, go for it and have fun ^^ Hope this helps!

Ah, for hordes, you can either use a pokemon that knows sweet scent, or you can use the item Honey. I've been using my shiny vileplume, which was my first horde shiny XD He knows sweet scent.
