Do you want to get into competitive battling? Well all you need to do is pick good EVs and moveset. Easy enough, but you also have to breed a million pokemon until they get 4-6 perfect IVs. Also you need a good nature. If you don't enjoy getting stomped by the ones who has enough free time to get a 6 IV best nature team. Also you can't even see your IVs. Have fun.

    IVs can be seen, in a way, EV training only takes 3-5 minutes with hordes, and in most cases it takes 30 eggs or less to get good IVs and the nature you want (even less with a Ditto). Not that much work.

    I know, I like EVs they are easy. I dislike IVs because It makes it hard for new players to get into competitive play.

    Well, new players also don't know about type effectiveness. When they find out about EVs and become interested they'll soon find out about IVs and learn how to breed for them.
