    Close Combat is bad, especially when you have Bulk Up. Try Karate Chop, or Drain Punch if Hitmontop gets that via Move Tutor.

    I didn't know hitmontop could learn drain punch, I guess I will go with that and max out It's HP and special defence to make him hard to take out.

    @Lee close combat lowers def and spdef by one stage. The point of bulk up was to make the drop in defence neutral when using close combat.

    Close Combat lowers Defense and Sp.Def, Superpower lowers Attack and Defense. I'm not sure if Hitmontop does get Drain Punch. It might, but if it doesn't, Karate Chop would be a nice Technician STAB attack.

    Just checked bulbapedia and It turns out hitmontop cannot learn drain punch. Shame, I guess I'll give It revenge. 90 base power, or 120 if someone attacks beforehand with no drops in defence.

    Depends on how you are going to use It I guess. Considering how frail absol is I don't think you can really setup a swords dance very well. I would probably give other moves with increased critical hit ratio and maybe a choice scarf.

    I'm using taunt and sucker punch because taunt gurrantees sucker punch to hit. It also has priority and Stab!
