    GTS. Put up a pokemon in the game you want the item to go to, asking for a very specific pokmeon you have in the other game. Go to the other game, give that specific pokemon your item, then find the one you originally deposited and trade. That way you have no risk of losing the item in GTS. I've done this method before with several items and never had problems.
