This is what I didn't miss about this game: all the infuriating mini-games! I quit playing Zelda games after this one. But I do like the dark storyline and sub-plots.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember a single required minigame. All of them are just added bonuses to make more of the game.

    There was one where you got gold dust which you needed to upgrade your sword. It was the "Mario Kart 64" minigame with the infamous Goron Roll. The others were heart pieces.
