The more I watch these beautiful looking cutscenes, the more I question why theres no voice acting and wish it was there. These cutscenes would have been a lot more vibrant if these guys talk and I'm sure Nintendo can implement voice overs. They got Fire Emblem Awakening pretty good, why not do the same with Zelda?

  • Because it's been established they don't speak English, or any real language. They speak in actual Hylian language. Fi is the only character to actually show someone speaking the language, or at least one version of it. Another example of how it's a different language that even changes over time, there's the characters in Wind Waker who speak OoT Hylian, and WW Link cannot understand them.

  • I like to think its cause they're not speaking english, they're subtitles cause everyone speaks hylian. Thats just what I like to think though.

  • I believe it's better this way. Think of it like reading your favorite book. You can't hear the characters but your mind put voices to them that seem fit to you. Since everyone interpret things different not having voice acting is a great way to enjoy the character even more.

  • They're sticking to LoZ tradition. There has never been official, spoken dialogue in any Zelda game. Apart from a few words, phrases and vocalizing.

  • I'm not gonna lie though, it would be interesting to have one with voice overs.

  • I can actually see that. Seeing Zelda with Hylian voice acting would be pretty neat. Something similar happened in Skyward Sword when Zelda was singing the Ballad of the Goddess. I can easily see Zelda in a similar situation as Gravity Rush where in that game, they used a fake language to convey voice acting.

  • As a note about Fire Emblem Awakening, they basically wanted to go all out for that game cause if that game didn't sell well there was not going to be another Fire Emblem game in the series. So they did what they could do, and succeeded.

  • I'm surprised that Nintendo would even consider shutting down the Fire Emblem series. I can understand adjusting for poor sales, but that would be expected in the U.S. since there's been a recession here.

  • I would have thought that that would have warranted a temporary slow down in production, but not refusing to release one game, Heroes of Light and Shadow, and then releasing Awakening with the full intention of it very likely being a final goodbye.

  • Have you even SEEN the LOZ CDI games? No voice acting. Ever.

  • One: That's not made by Nintendo Two: The voice acting was dreadful. Three: You're saying that because one or two games "happen to have VA means, ahh voice acting sucks!" Zelda doesn't need voice acting, it needs GOOD voice acting.

  • well someone has not played a Zelda game before ^_^; well dont worry maybe just maybe they do voice acting in ZeldaU. I dont thingk so though I think that is a featured saved for Nintendo's next gen console, Nintendo has always concentrated more on graphics and having good frames per second and resolution above all else.

  • I'll have you know that I played all the main Zelda series from Ocarina of Time to Skyward Sword, plus Minish Cap, Zelda II, Awakening, and I'm in the middle of playing Majora's Mask 3D. I'll give OoT through TP that MAYBE they want to focus on different things and hadn't came up with VA as an idea, but Skyward Sword and to an extent Hyrule Warriors prooves that VA can definitely work in Zelda.

  • oh no we been known that, but I am sure Nintendo is saving VA for when its all perfect ...Zelda must always be perfect its one of Nintendo's babies but I am sure that this years E3 will show some more of ZeldaU and we will know. but when it happens though it will be perfect no doubt.

  • To be completely honest, I would not be surprised if there was VA in zelda 2015, they say they're trying to change up the 'zelda formula' so its definitely a possibility. But VA or not, Link better stay a silent hero. I swear if I hear/read one line from him, I'll go ballistic.

  • I'm not sure where you heard that. Short of a complete overall though, I think it will still be recognizable. As it is, each game (spin-off in the sense of gameplay or not) provides a unique experience, but is still overall recognizable. Keeping Link silent if VA is attempted would definitely be very wise though.
