Well, you don't need to speak Japanese for certain Video Games, to understand the story. We might actually be able to play Mother and Mother 3, without importing.

  • @Cam @Eric You guys don't know what "troll" means, do you? It's just just a word you slap onto people on the internet you don't like. Trolls are people who mess with eachother. People who complain about region locking are just trying to fix what they see as a problem. They're trying to make Nintendo improve, and it may just be working.

  • @Koi, Song? If you mean Sony, yes, it's quite cheap for what it has under the hood. And have you seen Bloodborne? Compared to Bayonetta 2 in terms of graphic it's considerably higher quality. Although, Bayo 2 is the better game IMO.

  • @Friik WAIT A MINUTE. The Chris in red is different from the Chris I was talking about. The latter Chris claimed ALL consoles were region free before the Wii and DS. I don't know whether it's coincidence or irony, but the guy seems to have deleted his comment... I believe the Chris I'm talking about was wearing blue...

  • I don't understand why people would try to defend region-locking. I don't feel that strongly about it, but it provides no advantages to the consumer. There's nothing to defend about it. I mean, surely Nintendo has reasons to region lock games, but they clearly aren't consumer-friendly reasons. They can afford to go without region locking, so it's fair for gamers to ask them not to.

  • Yeah, I agree; the "I-don't-understand-Japanese" argument is rather weak. Right now, I'm in a place that utilizes NTSC products, but it wasn't always the case. I'd probably be moving back and forth across NTSC and PAL regions. Making a region free console would be very convenient for me.

  • -- coding was down to developers, there's loads of region free games for 360 , and PS3 is region free. Only my psone and pstwo are locked like the Wii U where i'm stuck not able to buy imports . and i don't believe they can not just do a update to make 3DS and Wii U region free. sometimes i just like getting Japanese releases , especially fighting and driving games.

  • @Ninja Zach Yes, I know what a troll is. People who gain no benefit from removing region locking that cry about how region locking is worse than the bloodiest wars in the world and how Nintendo is so evil for having region locking are trolls. People who travel a lot that want region locking removed and address their complaints in a mature way are sensible consumers.

@NinjaZach, people have the right to complain and complaining doesn't make someone a troll. If you're putting up a good, respectful argument for your cause, that's fine. However, there are trolls who will go to any random official Nintendo post to just say stuff like "OMG Nintendo, get rid of region lock already" in kind or a disrespectful, empty, whiny manner. Sorry if I offended anyone.
