    Don't capture it but carve it and break everything, Carve the tail, get them shiny drops and goodluck sir.

    Actually with rathian you definitely want to capture it. You can not carve plates off the body, only the tail. So break the head crown, cut off the tail, collect shiny drops and capture it for the best chance.
