    for the first question use the hone menu to exit the game. DO NOT CLOSE THE SOFTWARE. In miiverse, when the comment window comes up, there sould be a picture icon next to the emoticons. Just click on that. For the second one, I think they come with streetpass, but that's just an assumption, do not take it too seriously.
