  • its best i found to go with full sets but u might have to mix sets till u get a complete one:)

  • Imo it doesn't really matter, especially in this iteration as their are way better charms now and so many compound skills that even complete sets can be godly with their skills. But mixed sets does offer u more room for better skills in most cases tho but im not one that really does mixing much i stick with full sets and just customize them.

  • Np anytime. Well any wep can break parts off good it just depends on how strong the wep is and how well u use it. But if i had to choose i'd say greatswords and hammers. But really just choose whatever wep u feel most comfortable with using.

  • that depends on what your hunting really i my self use the charge blade when i use axe mode on it i tend to knock pieces off most monsters but its not 100%

  • Just remember that armor skills are more important, in general, than pure defense. For low and most of high rank, a full set will make it easier to get skills than mixing. Also, obviously, a Hammer excels at breaking horns and other hard points, but will never cut a tail off. All other weapons can both break and cut.

  • Armor skills being more important than defense is subjective tho really. I mean yes having armor skills, GOOD ARMOR SKILLS, is very good to have but defense imo is just as important cuz as long as u know the monsters attack patterns it doesn't matter much and helps u survive better unless its an insanely strong monster. I've always found having sufficient defense a lifesaver and armor skills are-

  • -just bonuses to make hunts easier but isn't needed to complete hunts cuz that's dependant on the players skills. Regardless tho, having BOTH is best cuz defense IS important for survival as well until u get to the point where you're so good u can do quests armorless lol. But if u DO get hit its over XD.

  • Yeah most of the time sets do help the only bad one I have seen is Zinogre which makes you more of an attack target and as a gunner thats pretty much the worst thing to give one. Even if you are good enough to quest without armor just remember 1 hit and you are going down hard if its not a low ranked monster.
