  • On another note: Why does Tembo look as if it was drawn by the creators of Chowder?

  • @RhoStar: I thought it looked alot like Regular Show, lol. It does though.

  • That is a rare exception. There were some other factors too such as lack of brand awareness and relatively niche audience. I heard of stock issues as well But generally, whenever sega makes a good game with a high profile name like sonic, then sales follow. Sanic colors was good and therefore got pretty high sales. 06 sold well merely because everyone thought it was sonic adventure 3

  • Besides sega only published Bayonetta 1 But if the product is bad, there will definitely be nobody to buy it. They're not allowed to complain. Platinum on the other hand could because of the low sales of Bayonetta 2

  • @Chanh: That's just the problem, Sonic's the only high profile game. In 2006 Sega released Virtua Fighter 5, Outrun Coast to Coast, Afterburner Climax, Phantasy Star Universe, Sega Rally 2006, and the only game anybody talks about is Sonic 06. One bad game amongst a sea of great ones and the entire company is put on everybody's hit list.I'm starting to see why Sega keeps their other franchise east

  • No one wants Sega games, they want Sonic games. Marketing would certainly help. If Valkyria Chronicles steam sales are any indication, I'm hoping they find a new market on PC cause console gamers just aren't drinking the koolaid, lol.

  • Maybe. All I know is that they need to get their act together. They can't just keep relying on sonic. Course though I think sega games could do better now with online distribution. Its possible people didn't think those types of games were worth a whole 60 dollar release. I believe that had those games been put out today as a budget title like canvas curse, there'd be better fortune

  • Marketing definitely is an issue. I've never even heard of those games until you told me. However, 2006 was that weird time period where retro gaming was considered lame and sega fans were still scattered after the loss of the Dreamcast. Today retro games get more respect. Look at shovel knight and the decent sales of 3D afterburner.

  • I'm certain that the audience is still there. As you said valkyria chronicles sold a million copies so sega still has their touch. I remember hearing of this one game released in 2006 that was a really good run and gun similar to contra but overlooked because of the genre. What was the last non sonic sega game? Aliens I remember was not good

  • I was watching gamexplain talk about sega's future and they mentioned the high fanfare and sales of the ultimate genesis collection. They need an ultimate Saturn collection

  • @The Trav, I want Toejam and Earl! Oh yeah right, the kickstarter. (Sega should make a Comix Zone sequel/remake/reboot, I'd love that.) Here's hoping Tembo's a success though.

  • I want a Ristar remake, though the werehog is gonna be the closest thing to it.

  • The reason why I thought of Chowder was because I don't ever recall an episode of Regular Show that featured an elephant.

  • Apparently, he's too Bad@$$ for Wii U. JK. Apparently, they didn't want to work on so many versions. Who knows, maybe we'll get it in the future.

  • I doubt the name would be an issue, because of a certain indie game called "Bombing B@$t@rds". I find it a wee bit strange that it isn't coming to Nintendo consoles, but I'm glad that it exists at all. And speaking of Sega's non-Sonic franchises, when are they ever making a completely new ChuChu Rocket game?

  • Remember the late 00s for Sonic was everyone hating Sega and thought Sonic was going to die? Well, Sega had that coming for them. But they managed to turn Sonic around. As for Sega franchises I want back, I personally would like more NiGHTS. But Naka's giving us Rodea now. Why not a new Jet Set Radio? Hell, I'll take a well-designed Billy Hatcher sequel at this point!

  • I despise the existence of this game so much. Game Freak is nothing but a bunch of washed-up backstabbers. Yes, they're an independent company, but only partially! They're a SECOND-party to Nintendo, not a third! It's the situation with Rare all over again...
