  • If you dont have a 3DS XL, I recommend these lower screen settings

  • I have Old 3DS and I do map top-left, virtual D-Pad top-right, and large item bar across the bottom, all with no problem. Helps that I did that same setup in 3U.

  • i see that this nnid seems to be new... is this your first MH game too? that setting is actually dangerous, you need to keep an eye always on your stamina bar, if you don't pay attention all the time to your party hp it will end in eventual failure, where is the signal button? i still play on my "ambasador 3DS" with a circle pad pro, and this is the touch screen setting that i find useful ↓↓↓↓

  • I dont really use the D pad when i cn use the lock on just by pressing L. and i allways pay attention to my hp and stamina without a problem. I must have 1500 hours of gameplay with mhf2 mhfu mhp3 and mhtri combing. im not new. haha

  • i must have reached 2000hours just in Tri, the time you played doesn't mean that much now, mh4u is really different to any other, why? this game is the perfect collection of unfortunately and unfair moments, you need to be ultra focused so the hp bar is better in the upper screen. places are smaller, terrain can be a pain and monsters... all is designed to make you fail, not to mention the party.

  • this is the first MH for many players, so you need to keep an eye on their bars...press start to give the signal/make combinations can be risky.... especially when a crazy golden rajang is aiming at you to blast 80% of your hp in one hit, combine that with the terrain and it may end bad if you are paying attention to the lower screen to see how much stamina is being used

  • you may be ok somehow with those settings... but, what kind of 3DS you have? the bars are not a trouble on upper screen ,on a regular 3DS, don't give advices that may end in something bad... if you are thinking only in visual range....well that's not very helpful advice... there are many ■■■■( non experienced players) on miiverse you know

  • looking at the lower screen for a split second is all it takes. your pouch still shows up on the top screen when youre scrolling through it so thats not an issue. and pressing start and X to signal is easy, and you only needa to signal once so its not like its gonna get you killed. you dont need to bring your full attention to the bot screen. its so easy to get used to. Trust me. :]

  • I like keeping an eye on my health bar and stamina bar at all times, since they are VERY important. I always carry Lifepowders in multiplayer, so I'd prefer to also keep an eye on my allies. As for lock on, I'm well into G Rank and haven't used it, so I can do without it.

  • I look at my health and stamina at all times as well. you would be suprized how fast your eyes can turn. xD

  • Plus I find the top screen feels a bit too empty without the bars. That, and they wouldn't fit my preferred setup I detailed above. The map's less important since I usually only look at it when tracking a paintballed monster.

  • 1 second will not get you killed? have you played 140lv GQ missions?.... a second is all you need to get in troubles, the signal have many uses not just tell the monster location....well ppl seems to have forgotten about sleep bombing, monster battle, player bait, and many other strategical ways to play... i give up... give the advice that you want, i don't care anymore

  • a split second is not 1 second. xD

  • eye hand coordination have a delay of a tiny fraction of second, but that delay can increase if you have to take decisions, if you are in a dangerous situation that delay can become perceptible and if the player is tired, not used to that situation or just a little distracted, the delay of the action can be a second and even more...and soon the felynes will come for you >.<
