Unlike in DKC3, Kopters can actually be defeated in this game, which makes them easier to deal with. However, someone found evidence years ago that Rare once considered that Kopters should be defeated in DKC3 as well, before changing their minds at one point. This is because DKC3 has unused sprites for Kopter being defeated, which look exactly like this (except with more colors). How fascinating!
