    You don't need Earplugs for gunlances. Play as you would with a guard lance set...always ready to throw out a quick shield. Unless you're normal shelling and thus using full burst a lot, in which case my advice is pick your bursts wisely. Hermitaur into Gravios for normal and long, but I'd recommend Hermitaur into Seltas for wide as I find a wide playstyle as more aggressive and using less guards.

    What do you mean by Hermitaur into Gravios? Mix Armor? I currently use Long Lv3 relic gunlance with bad sharpness but heck it IS lv3 shell... .

    Full sets. Hermitaur is a good gateway set for anything with a shield, but mixing with Gravios is good, too. Especially since they both give Defense and Guard.
