Yeah that last update was huge, still three specials on the go I don't recall seeing that before. Yep 10th base 80 out now, getting more common. (caught it my 2nd attempt) Here is my ranking at one day into the contest, should get a double jewel. 30k is an easier threshold, but no boosts could certainly make it challenging Klim, that double damage for 3000 coin is a huge point booster.

Okay, so I was nearing max coin again so I figureed why not take another run at the competition just to see if I could better my score, not that it was in any danger, I had 46k and had just been bumped from the top 500. Wow, I Just Cracked the Top Ten! Had to save a screen of this. None of my team are Max Level even. I almost wonder If I could make that top 5. Earlier in the week it would've.

Well Submaster, er I mean Troll, I gave it 3 more boosted tries to see if I could wiggle that number for you and even with my team a level higher each the best I could manage was 52k and the other attempts were well down in the 40k s, Guess it was just a flukey good game. If it is any comfort to you I doubt I'm he to whom the number pertains. But then, I did just slide into 13th position.

Those early iced up stages I found always had the same guys side by side so if you got the column beside it to droped you could often hit a couple of matches and clear a fair amount of ice. There was on opening move and maybe a follow up the worked well and I used over and over in the 30s and 40s.

Congratulations Klim on the coin free contest win! My 7th ended the Competition at 20th. Still by far my best and something that will be very difficult to improve on in the future. I'm glad to see Manaphy and the new Safari. Thanks for posting the list, looks like ground types will be useful this time. I'm upto 7 Max level pokemon now, got 2 more last night. Welcome Josh. I've caught the ones I've seen so far, just missing Manectric. Sleep just delays disruptions, right? It would be cool if it actually put the turn or timer count down on hold for a bit though.

Double catch rate if beat while asleep would be nice too.

I wonder what the apearance rates are. At a guess: Manectric 3-5% Electrike 25-30% Stantler 20-25% Darmanitan 4-8% Darumaka 30-35% I'd like to see them do a third 5 pokemon safari in a month or so and then follow that up with a Super Safari that has all the pokemon from the first three safaris in it plus three new ones for 18 total and a far greater type spread.

The first had 2 grass, 2 dark and a normal The second had 2 fire, 2 electric and a normal If third gets 2 water, 2 flying and a normal, and then the three bonus add 2 of dragon, steel or fairy that could make building your team interesting, especially if they don't let you know if you'll be using 3 or 4 of your team until you start.

That might make it too easy, especially with only 5 to begin with Momo. At leasts they haven't been including big grindy stages that take a lot of moves to clear (25+) in these safaries.

Found it, Thanks Haseeb. This next contest should be interesting then, There aren't a lot of ground types available and they don't have a mega yet. No other type is super effective against Electric. After I catch Manectric I'll need to start building and leveling my team.

I caught Manectric, it's mega ability would need to be amazing to unseat Ampharos as my go to electric mega, because it is less powerful and Ampharos has a decent one. Faster to mega evolve might help its case. Yeah, after Groudon (a base 70 that was a special not everyone has) the list of 'good' ground types gets thin quick, Donphan, Marowak, maybe Stunfisk. Might use Gengar as mega, or none.

Congrats Beef. Josh yes they are both electric types, I was trying to think of what it would take to make me like Manectric as a mega better than Ampharos. Sub, thats the same team I'm working on, trying to use stage 130 for exp, but boy does it take more time. I've maxed all but Marowak now, plus a couple of others. (not sure if you are going to see this.)

Hard to believe I'm over 260 hours in on this game, I'm surprised how much I like it. It is about to pass AC:New Leaf to become my second most played title after Sub Wars! Just got another Jewel for that 300th tag, helps to have another player in the house. Beef, yeah lots of blocks to slog through on that stage, I don't remember if I tried mega Aerodactyl, but it should help once mega-ed.

I think my last go at that stage I used mega slowbro, not as good at clearing blocks but it does more damage, being super effective.

That 260 figure was from my activity log, funny that the difference is so large when compared to the games own time tracker.

The Manectric Mega Stone competition is live and there is a brand new prize structure! Top 40k get the stone. Top 20k get stone + mega start. Top 6k get stone + mega speedup candy (no mega start) All others get a jewel.

Here is my initial place holder score, top 200 with under 5k participating so far. I'll probably have to try to increase it later if I want candy, but it should be enough for the stone.

Yeah, a fully boosted attempt on last one costed 5500 coins, this one is 13500. I'm guessing they don't plan a second chance at this one, at least not soon. 40k stones is likely a little more than were give out for lucario and blastiose with consecutive prize pools of 20k and 30k with unknown overlapping winners. Also it isn't really a mega stone competition if the top prize is something else.

Beef: Thanks, but my run was fully boosted with a team I'd been preparing for days. I'm guessing yours wasn't heavily boosted yet. Haseeb: Yeah, I heard about that, it is supposed to be very similar, except the track you follow as you beat and unlock stages goes upward instead of to the right. I expect it'll have separate events and competition from what this one does and won't affect us much.

I wasn't happy with how quickly my first score was dropping positions. It was out of the top 1000 in the first day. At that rate it would end up around 7000th-ish. I made two more boosted attempts the first was worse, the next got me this, which I project to end in the 4000s. Good Enough.

Eject, eh? I don't remember seeing non-support pokemon in the meowth stage(s).

A few might be early specials, did you start at launch? Also not all have been released yet, (there is a honedge and a doublade stage but no Aegislash yet and regirock's brethren for example) I haven't missed any yet and am sitting at 250 caught.

With under a minute to go this competition looks like it will not hit 100000 participants, the first competition was over 200000, as you can see in some screen shots earlier in this thread. The decline has been fairly stead as I recall and that seems interesting given that the number of downloads of this game has gone from 1 million to 4.5 million in roughly the same time period.

Haseeb, it looks like it. Also is that Luvdisc at 272? Will it have a cool item 50% of the time you beat it, or catch it, hope so, otherwise not sure why they'd put it in.

Josh: Mega Ampharos with mega start really helps.

Good job Josh! I tried feebas once but mainly stuck to ampharos for that one.

I just noticed that the once a day Jirachi stage is only up for 4 days total. Better make the most of your catch attempts if you haven't caught it yet.
