    I remember Dark Void Zero on DSi actually requiring you to blow while a pixellated cartridge was on-screen to start the game!

    @adam & Ryo: yeah, I do that for my NES games too, though it's not as nostalgic. And some brass polish if the pins are a little tarnished, though it helps to open up the cart for that.

    my most successful nes game fixing technique was shifting the cart left and right while it was in the nes and then hitting reset when the game was flikering on/off. having to blow in genesis games makes me feel old but its a reality :0

    lol mine was putting the cartridge under my shirt n blowing through the shirt into the cartridge :] worked every single time as a kid with genesis n64 snes n nes etc. lol...

    I had a technique too!! Some times on my nes I used to hold the reset button just keep it pressed and it worked some times and also sort of pressing down on the cart as it goes in and it hits the front part of the console kind of inserting it by force it worked some times too ...dude I needed to play those games so bad it was gonna work one way or another XDDD

    Blowing into the cartridge only sends moisture into it, making the game deteriorate faster. Put it in front of a fan or simply take it out, wait some seconds, then put it back in.
