its actually a tech limitation, with everything the amiibo are programmed to do there isn't a whole lot of storage data left, enough for 1 game's data but not a whole bunch of them.

@toonlink: I kind of thought that might be the case, but it seems like poor planning. I'd rather pay extra for an Amibo with enough memory to work on various games rather than repeatedly buying the same character. I suspect they're trying to squeeze extra money out of us. Actually, I'm not too worried. I'm really not that impressed with their role in SSB, so I'm converting them to Mario Party.

Max, where did you hear that they have 1 GB? I actually have no idea about their storage space, but if that's true they have that much (that's a lot!), making us delete the SSB data to use it on MP is a total scam!

I know. It's totally ridiculous. Considering how SMALL game save data is, there is NO excuse for their restricting them to one game. They could go dumpster-diving for parts that could hold multiple game data. I'm going to have to say, Best case scenario, they were Lazy. Worst case, they've become sickeningly greedy and want us to buy multiples. :/

Toonlink, I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. The Amiibo do very little. They activate prewritten software on the games. The games and consoles do all the heavy lifting. The Amiibo just needs to save a few packets of data...maybe a gamesave file at most. There is no excuse for Nintendo doing this. :/

I'm going with your second theory. I hope I don't make any fanboys hyperventilate, and it pains me to say this, but it's the cold hard truth. The Wii U has failed, horribly. To turn a profit, for every hit game they need to shake down the faithful for extra dollars (or yen) with DLC or Amiiboes.

Lmao! Omg, funny. They should be thanking the gaming gods for their 3DS tech. I'm nearly certain it's the only thing that's kept them afloat. There are some GREAT games on the WiiU, and I personally like laying down and using off scteen play, but the fact remains, without the 3DS, they would have been sunk. I mayaswell finish my rant by saying the N3DS is what they should have launched 2 begin wi

Anyway, things seem to be stabalizing for Nintendo, and there are some gaming titles I'm looking forward to, but the Amiibo situation is just proof they are still a bit desparate to maintain profits. Fortunately, most games I use Amiibo with simply use them as a means to unlock DLC. So, not critical at the moment that they only have one "game save."

You have a good point. Even though it seems ridiculous that you can't use one Amiibo on SSB & MP, they aren't necessary to access the main content of the game (Camera slowly pans to Skylanders). And I should clarify my comment about the Wii U being a total failure. Of all the systems I've owned, it's one of the ones I'm most happy with. I've loved every game I bought (Nintendoland, that...

...doesn't include you. You were forced on me & you blow!) But no matter how much I enjoy my Wii U, that doesn't change the fact that 10 million sold in 2.5 years is a disaster. My worry is that outside of the hardcore fans, everyone will write them off as a has been. With 3rd parties abandoning them and dismissed by the public as old school, they will suffer a slow death. It happened to Atari.

To be fair to Nintendoland, I've never had a second person to play with. The multiplayer games look like they'd be more fun, but as a single player, it's a rather dull experience.

Nintendo Land is much more fun with multiple people, and I dare say more fun than mario Party? That said, I don't own Mario Party, so I really can't say for sure. :P The WiiU is kinda hurting for games...I mean, there are a lot of games, and If I went back to 100% them, I'd still be playing, but the 3DS just feels like it has a stronger library.

I agree. Some of my favorite games on DS and 3DS where from Atlus and Aksys because they'd release crazy Japanese titles no one else would touch. Sadly, neither of them have released a single Wii U game.
