Now look Nintendo, many people were hyped to get a WiiU for Zelda U. Now you just threw away that reason. Enjoy your abismal WiiU sales this year again as you have "Nothing" to release as your big November game to December. I'm sure Star Fox will release beforehand, but really Nintendo. And you also choose not to show ZeldaU at this E3. #WhosStillOnTheHypeTrain

Sad it won't be at E3. Even a tiny bit of footage would be cool. As long as this doesn't delay as much as Twilight Princess did, I'm ok with them needing more time.

NX = Maybe Nintendo should make the NX a smartphone 3ds & Wii U controller.

I'm fine with this since it only means that the game will be better when it's finally released.

With that said, I'm looking forward to Star Fox this year. Crossing my fingers for Metroid/Mother 3/F-Zero announcements too ;)

Not surprised. 2015 sounded way too early since they just revealed gameplay footage just last year. I'm okay with waiting until 2016, but I was hoping to at least see another teaser at E3 this year.

one.... two.... three.... Tears!!!! Everyone freak out!!!!! It's all good I rather have something to play leading up to NX instead of suffering a year drought.

It's great to hear that the development team wants to continue to work on making it the best it can be. It's just too bad this game will now most likely be releasing towards the end of the Wii U's cycle before the NX comes around. I do hope that since this game isn't going to be appearing at E3, we'll at least see some progress on it in a Nintendo Direct so that we won't completely forget about it

I think the disappointment everyone feels in the delay will be rewarded when we actually get to play the game. That said, I wish you would show it at E3...come on, just give us a taste of what we're waiting ever so patiently for.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to live with Hyrule Warriors for my Wii U Zelda action for now...

Ocarina of Time wouldn't have been as great of a game if it weren't delayed so I approve of this decision!

I was going to go to E3 for the first time this year. I was most excited about The Legend of Zelda Wii U. It is my favorite series, after all. This hurts me.

I could see this coming from a mile away. A 2015 date seemed kind of ridiculous for a game of such a large scope. And guys, remember what Miyamoto said: "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

Super bummed to hear about the delayed release date, but if it results in a better game, I'm all for it. What is harder to get is the decision to not present at E3... The “we just want to focus on making a great game” reasoning just seems more like an excuse, or worse, a way to not admit that the dev team had to scrap everything and start from scratch. Sad news, but I still can't wait for it!

At least we're getting Splatoon and Star Fox in the meantime...

Wow! I've never seen anything like this! Thank goodness I probabally won't have to pay with my own money because of my birthday in September or more expectabally, Christmas. This also makes me relate back to my own coding (which is NOWHERE close to your amazing games!), how new ideas continuously come forth into mind, and you have to adjust the whole game because of it!

Well, not gonna lie: I'm disappointed that they won't show anything at E3. I mean, everyone was expecting a trailer that would get us all hyped for the game. However, I can understand. I'd rather have a complete and "ultimate" Zelda game like Aonuma said. I'm sure the final product will be well worth the wait. In the meantime, I guess we'll have to keep playing SS, aLBW and MM3D.

Im not unhappy about the GAME being delayed, considering X will definitely be keeping me busy, but I am worried about what Nintendo will release this holiday, because if they want better Wii U sales, they NEEEEEED a big holiday game

The new Zelda game sounds more and more promising every time I hear about it. I'm sure that the delay with be worth it. Looking forward to the end result. Keep up all the good work.

I will add that I am 100% for the delay. Wind Waker HD was so much better than Gamecube version. GC Zelda was rushed & dungeons were cut and later used in other Zelda titles.

Its perfectly fine, you guys stated your reasons and that's good enough. Also people really need to stop thinking its going to be like twilight princess release, NX is a concept of a console, it isn't coming 2017 because its way to early.

For some odd reason, as much as I was/am looking forward to this game, I'm not THAT affected by its delay. I'd rather have an amazing, mind-blowing Zelda experience than a title that's similar to all the others. Of course, the open-world aspect will be completely different on it's own, but hearing they've come up with new ideas along the way is more than enough for me. It'll be worth it!

Just pull a Wii and put It on NX in the fall of 2016. Have a 3D mario alongside It, mario kart 9 confirmed for spring 2017 and a matroid announce for fall 2017 alongside splatoon 2. That right there Is a winning strategy and microsoft and sony won't be able to react because there two paperweights would have just started to get games unlike the Wii U that has had great NEW games since launch!

Dear Nintendo, if you try to slip this to the NX, I will never buy another console from you, and thus far I've bought every single one except the Virtual Boy.

This is the true way games should be developed. Not so much to aim for a release dates and add DLC to complete an uncompleted and rushed game, but to create it in the ultimate quality that will eventually blow gamers minds. This will be a NX launch title because Nintendo knows Wii U is a failure and no one wants one. Then people will be smart enough to not buy NX because they will lose all loyalty towards you. RIP Nintendo.

We literally JUST got a Majora's Mask remake fans have so desperately cried for. It's impossible for me to mad at the development team. They're investing all of their time and resources into an experience that'll not only challenge their creativity, but redifine what we percieved to be standard for a Zelda game. I know this game'll be worth the wait.
