I think the delay is good. For starters, 2015 is already crowded with great games, 2016 is Zelda's 30th Anniversary, and now we'll get a perfect Zelda game. "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

I'd like to see a future Zelda game where the protaganist becomes self-aware. The added challenge that the player would have is gaining proper control of their avatar by winning it over.

Wow. I can understand holding the game back to improve it, but not showing it off at E3? I was expecting at least a tease or something... Oh well, good things come to those who wait. I guess I'll have extra money to spend on games releasing this year. Hopefully this doesn't happen with Star Fox, I've been anticipating that for quite some time.

I'd rather have a delayed complete game than a rushed incomplete game. We don't want to have a repeat with Sonic Boom.

Please take all the time you may need - the finished product will be truly better for it. Zelda games are epic - beloved for many DECADES to come. It is so very much worth the wait. That's what seperates Nintendo from all others.

Delays with Zelda titles are nothing new. The question then becomes, what is the big U.S. Christmas release? Xenoblade? Fire Emblem X Shin Megami? Or surprise E3 announcement? Metroid Prime 4 Wi U???? Love U Nintendo!! Keep pushing on! (Can't wait for the NX to destroy the PS4 and XB1!)

Not showing Zelda U at E3 will feed rumours about game development being moved to NX

do you guys seriously think the nx is coming any time soon? the wiiu is still new and running strong. sales aside, in 10 years from now wiiu will remembered as a success because the games are so good

Why does some people think that Zelda Wii U would be coming to the NX? I'd say that Zelda Wii U will be released by 2016 and the NX will be released by 2017. Stop thinking it will be on the next console. I know Twilight Princess was like this, but it's just gonna be on the Wii U. Don't worry about it!

Shocker! I figured it probably wouldn't make it in 2015 due to past Zelda games being delayed. I don't mind it too much as long as the game benefits greatly from the extra time in development. If we get Xenoblade Chronicles, Star Fox, Mario Maker, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Splatoon this year for Wii U, plus a few surprises, all is good. I hope it's Spring 2016 and not Fall 2016 though.

Ok I'm calling it now: Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, 2015/04/01. Bam, new trailer and bam: APRIL FOOLS! The game is still on for 2015!

We fully understand. Knowing how the new ideas come up and will make this game on the Wii U probably one of the best games in the series. The wait will be long but it will be well worth it when it comes out next year. Thank you for telling us in advance. God bless O:)

Yep, Eiji you have done it again! Who cares if you have to wait an extra 365 day's to play a Video Game, if it's going to be the BEST video game you have played. Good Job, Eiji! If I remember correctly, in 2011, there were two Zelda games, and the same goes for 2013. So why am I getting only one this year? I really hoped that Nintendo would follow that trend, yet sometimes, there are just some promises that even Nintendo cannot keep. Even though I appreciate the fact that they're making this the "best" Zelda game to date, it still bugs me.

Make the best Zelda game you can and it will be worth the wait! Thank you for your hard work!

The hype is to much for me to handle! please make it the best zelda game since Twilight Princess! I am happy that EAD 3 has made the decision to make the best game possible for Wii U. though I would like a short 2 minute trailer at E3 please.

It's amazing how much has changed. People have now come to expect this from Nintendo. To put aside a release window so that the game can be better. It used to be that everyone would complain about it when this happens, but it doesn't seem to faze most people (as it seems). Maybe the fans just like to yell at Mr. Iwata. :)

in english...we discovered the wiiu cant run what we want to create... so we bagan looking at the capability of the nx and decided the game could be better as a launch title for it..thankyou for supporting the wiiu and we hope u buy the nx

Aonuma-san, for me it was mistake to annouce Zelda U at E3 2014. The marketing had to be more prepared. I never believed that this game would be released 2015. I was waiting for this announcement.As you well know, to make a game, however simple at it is,requires time.You can not make a game of Zelda in one year.What Nintendo is passing me is a desperate attitude to sell WiiU.

That is fine! This will show that the Wii U has power to produce awesome games and blow PS4 and Xbox One out of the water. You're gonna delay the game because you're adding a lot of new features, but you aren't letting us see or hear anything about it at E3. That's... actually really stupid. You ran out of games to hold us over, people are going to get impatient even if they act positive right now.

Oh my gosh, I'm gonna die now. I didn't even know that a new game was coming out! Despite the delay, I look forward to playing the new Zelda game when it comes out. I actually play the Legend of Zelda Gameboy Advance(d? I forgot) game to this day.

It's fine, delay it, that's a good decision. But PLEASE, show at least a little teaser at E3. And this better not be because of the NX! Wii U owners deserve respect!!!

A longer wait means more hype! Build it up correctly and it will pay off. I'd rather get a game when its complete and at full potential, instead of a game that was rushed and could have done more.

I wonder if Nintendo might have postphoned it also because of a SECRET PROJECT they may be working on? Like... Smash DLC, mobile games, or (gasp) Super Mario 3D Galaxy

Certainly, I understand (the same aspect had to happen with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, as I recall). I'll bet the new possibilities for the game are similar to those found in other open-world RPGs. It may not entirely mean that a 2015 release date is out of the question, but a 2016 release will be fitting for the series's 30th anniversary, too. Good luck on this project, Aonuma-san!

I'm not shocked that the game is being delayed, but I don't understand why Zelda U won't be at E3. You revealed footage last E3, so why bother showing it then if the reason for not having it this year is to focus on its development? I would be less anxious if there was a Nintendo Direct airing soon. I'm just hoping to see more games other than Star Fox to come out for the Wii U during the holidays

Well thats disappointing...if not surprising. There is a trend with delay in the 3d zeldas. I guess we will have to wait longer, but hey it will be a better game for it. I guess I will have more time to focus on xenoblade x this year, so thats a positive at the very least.

OK, so there'll be a delay. So what? There's always time enough to do the job right the first time. What eats up time is going back and correcting the errors you made the first time around. Anyway, this is Nintendo. They don't make shovelware because they take the time to do it right.

I'm pretty disappointed. I would've loved playing this year. But I'm not very surprised. Like Iwata always says in every other Nintendo direct,"...please understand." But the people saying,"you just don't know how to make a Zelda game." Bogus. Anouma and his team, the whole foundation of Zelda, are trying hard to develope this game and people are complaining and retaliating by insulting. Just sad.

Yeah, as everyone was saying about wanting to not wait. Me too. There's nothing we can do about it. I guess that means I've more time to save money for it. I was super excited to find footage, but nope. Footage will satisfy my excitement.
