At least he clarified why they're delaying the game. Like he said in the video, I'd rather have a finished and complete version of the game rather than a rushed and incomplete version.

I'm okay with this, I mean, they're making the game even better! Who isn't excited for that?! I'm really happy with how the Zelda development team is working hard to make this game supreme and epic!

I'm a little sad that there will be no playable build at e3, but I'm super happy that they're delaying it to perfect the game. Thanks for the announcement, and your hard work. I suggest that Link be allow to use a series of different swords that effect both battle and travel abilities. A fire sword that is able to burn down doors and manipulate lava. Another sword is the shadow sword that allows you to phase through walls and enemies. I also hope Link will battle legendary creatures like a dragon, griffin, and leviathan.

I knew that was coming! I remember when they delayed Twilight Princess, it ended up being a very "complete" and great game, but it was different from what most people expected. E3 is going to be a snore-fest this year. I'd actually love to see Twilight Princess make its way to the Wii U (please not the 3ds)! I think it would be absolutely beautiful remastered in HD.

While it is disappointing to hear that the game's release will be delayed, I'm glad to hear that there's so much effort being poured into it! Having a massive world of Hyrule means nothing if it's lifeless. I hope for an interactive world with many characters who undergo development and have side-stories of their own to give Hyrule the feeling of a living world! Maybe also an in-game bestiary.

Well it does sadden me that I won't see it at E3. And that it won't be out this year. I know Mr. Aonuma and the development team definitely want and need the time. Since this will one of, if not, the biggest Zelda game in the series. And if they want to make it the best it can be. Then, I'm all for that. Can't wait to see how it turns out in 2016.

i'm mad at this, not because of the delay, that's ok, you can delay it all you want and have to to make it the best experience, but to not show it at e3, that's a big red flag, and i don't like it, at least show some of the game to keep the hype. Anyway i know you know what's best for the game and that is going to be fantastic, it's just sad. :(

I think the general consensus is, people are mature and respectful enough to understand why the game is being delayed, there is no problem with that and I fully support it. For whatever reason, take as long as you need, just ensure the game is optimized to the best possibly version it can be. What I can not support and am quite upset by, is the fact that the game will not be shown at e3.

Take your time. I was dissappointed with the sword combat of Skyward Sword, so as long as we're returning to the greatness that was Twilight Princess, I can wait. Honestly I'm dying for the NA release of Xenoblade Chronicles X hopefully for this year.

Disappointing, but understandable...for the time being. I am glad that Nintendo treats development better than Ubisoft, Sony, Microsoft, and others that had games released before they were ready (remember last Fall?).

day one buyer of wiiu here. and i'm very disappointed at this point. a delay is one thing, but to not even have a game trailer prepared by now is a huge red flag and should be very concerning to wiiu owners. how is this even possible? when did development for this game really start? i assumed it started before the wiiu released, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Completely Unacceptable.

Aonuma-san, it is extremely hard to be excited for a game when you know absolutely nothing about it. Really, I am fine with a delay(however, you better not release it in November 2016), but you need to keep us updated! We don't know anything about the game barring an open world, and some horse mechanics. So show us what you at least have,or elaborate on your plans. I've lost my hype for this game!

It's not surprising that they delayed the game. Zelda games, the console ones at least, are known for getting delayed. Besides next year is the 30th anniversary of LOZ. This is why I can trust Nintendo with their games.

As long as it still releases for Wii U, I'll suffer through a delay. I'll be beyond mad if it ends up on the NX & I can't play it, though (can't afford one, & likely won't be able to for quite some time, if ever)! I got my Wii U years in advance of Zelda U, knowing it was coming. Perhaps you've been watching "Zelda Unknown", as well, & will be including some of Commonwealth Realm's suggestions?

Just realized a minor positive to a Zelda U delay. I had been worried about Zelda U interrupting my initial playthrough for Xenoblade Chronicles X. But if Zelda U is delayed a bit, I MIGHT have time to finish that massive RPG! Now if I could just get back to beating my friend's copy of Xenoblade Chronicles I borrowed & have barely gotten anywhere in!

Take your time, a game this huge can't be rushed. Don't pressure yourselves with a deadline. Anyway we're getting another big open-world Wii U game in 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also, 2016 is the 30th anniversary!

For my favorite franchise, I can wait. Quality over quantity and all that. From what little I've seen it looks awesome, so I can only begin to imagine how mind blowing it'll be when even the team behind it is likely flapping their arms around in excitment.
