You need to get every weapon in the adventure mode first map for every character. Then the kill count will start counting down when you use the master sword. Once you unlock evil's bane, other weapons for other characters with 25000 skills will go from blue to red so you can unlock those weapon's secret skills as well.

All the level 3 weapons in the first map. The first map doesn't have all the level 3 weapons for all the characters. Some are in master quest. Adventure mode Adventure map is the only map you need all the weapons for the evil's bane unlock.
