Please don't agree with nintendo on taking down the Super Mario 64 HD demo. That's just dumb.

  • Rasen, they literally used sounds. Sounds.

    Yeahs1
  • They didn't edit Mario? That may also be a reason. It's an actual Mario model from one of their games. Not edited or original, just taken from a game. I'm not sure, really. I'll got look into it.

  • It was non-profit. Stop trying to morally justify this, it's dumb.

    Yeahs2
  • I don't see how that is relevant.

  • Piracy =/= Fan work.

    Yeahs0
  • It had an entirely different engine, terrain, and brand-new models, it's not nearly identical.

  • John's essay video game copyright- 2015.

  • Well, you actually lost, Rasen, because Aryoksini is doing a full Remake with Blender, which is libre software.

    Yeahs1
  • I thought you could only make models and garry's m-like cutscenes with Blender

  • 64 HD doesn't even look that great tbh...The terrain and stuff looks so plain. And I think they did copy some models exactly (like the power star or something), and most of thr music was copied too. It isn't surprising that Nintendo took it down, but I don't see a problem with it.

  • @John, It's actually a full animation and Game developing software, I've made some animations with it. @Ganem, it does look plain, but gorgeous at the same time.

    Yeahs2
  • You wanna know another example of this? Christian Whitehead remaking the original Sonic games. Sega didn't have a problem with that. They published the remakes on home consoles. I don't see why Nintendo can't do the same thing here and just clean it up a bit.

    Yeahs1
  • Yep, and see how well it turned out, and how much the fanbase loved them.

    Yeahs2
