I seriously hope that the Direct announces something for Mario's 30th anniversary. Yeah, Mario Maker is great and I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to it, but there's gotta be something more! And don't do what you did with his 25th anniversary (Seriously? You just burned Mario All-Stars on a Wii disc?). Maybe give us HD remakes of the 3D games, or a retro-styled new Mario game with Mario 3 graphics.

    Wasn't Mario's 30th anniversary in 2011? He was created in 1981 after all. This year is the 30th anniversary of the NES Super Mario Bros (1985) game but Mario had been around long before that.

    While that would be awesome, they did say they weren't going to release any big Mario games this year, so it'd have to be something smaller, like a remake or spin-off. Not that Mario Generations couldn't count as a spin-off if Nintendo did decide to do it.
