@Gary: Fire Emblem 12 is "Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~Heroes of Light and Shadow~" which was only released in Japan for the Nintendo DS. It was a remake of FE3 (Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem). It also where the Avatar and Casual Mode originated from.

In a way, we could also say FE(7) was partially the origin of Avatar mode. :P ...PARTIALLY. I'm not sure I did understand right, so despite knowing the answer I'll still ask: the "Lazarus effect" on the dead unit works only for you or for the enemy as well...? (...Told you it was a silly question.) Also, unbreakable weapons seems highly pratical, but also absurd.

@Angel: Probably only for you. Phoenix Mode is probably just there for if you want to enjoy the story without having to restart all the time. Phoenix!Normal/Easy Mode will just be a 'Enjoy the Story" mode or "White Tanooki Suit" Mode. :V

Groan, then. Oh well. (Nice Mario univserse example, though. Heck, even The Binding of Isaac had its own reference to the suit/leaf: http://bindingofisaacrebirth.gamepedia.com/Gnawed_Leaf?cookieSetup=true) ...I wonder what Boris or Yuffie would think of this. At least of the unbreakable weapons, since, for the difficulty, as long as Lunatic is there, it doesn't change much.

@Angel: Maybe the modes will be even harder to justify infinite weapons. Maybe there won't be any shops on the battlefield in Nohr, and having all your weapons broken would make the game unwinnable. It could be that you only get weapons from defeated enemies and/or from treasure chests.

@Paul That COULD bem but I wonder... I suppose some sort of currency will still be present, correct? In that case, what could you buy with it, if weapons are excluded? Only Vulneraries and the such, perhaps stat boots? Weapon forging, if that will still be present? Also, for Hoshido MAY be understandable (pacifism), but nations at war that DO NOT produce equipment? Lel.

@Angel: Yeah, probably healing items and such. Maybe Nohr and Hoshido got angry at the continent that produces weapons, so they used a spell that makes weapons infinite and now they're lol at the weapon continent.

@Paul This. Here, grab my money (what I have, at least). IS, HIRE THIS GUY FOR FE:IF PLOT AND MAKE THAT HAPPEN. (Nohr: Na(z)is - Hoshido: Jews - Weapon-making nation: 'Mmerica?)

@Angel: Or like in WWI, where everyone was fighting while your old buddy the Netherlands was sitting in the background laughing at how much money they made during that time.

@Paul Netherland confirmed for Anna nation, inventing that spell to steal all the profits from 'Merica (they made a hotspring in the Falvia!Anna Hotspring Scramble, so...). Now, we just need a nation for Aqua/DancerGirl. Uhm... Talks about about world's peace and stopping the wars, but doesn't side with nobody, nor does squat to attain it... *surprised inhalation* OMG! IT'S THE VATICAN! (Jk)

@Angel You were wondering so: I'm sure that they will balance the game around unbreakable weapons. FE2 had infinite ones and yet nobody complained. I'm confident that we'll get a somewhat balanced system. Phoenix mode doesn't bother me btw. It's optional, has a (for me) rather hilarious concept and draws more people to the fandom. There's nothing negative about that.

Are unbreakable weapons for all modes? Or just the easy mode(s)?

@Boris Fire Emblem 2 means... Gaiden? Frankly, I had no idea: It's literally the FE I know the least of (and, of course, I've never played). So, it did? Well, I don't worry much about the gameplay quality, per se... it's just that the idea of Adamantium-forged weapons is a bit... too unrealistic for me. Perhaps my fears with Phoenix Mode were about how they SEEM to be trying to ->

make the game more accessible by lowering difficulty, and I'm not very fond of this trend: I think Casual Mode served that purpose just fine (and the game is, in my opinion, far more enjoyable at higher difficulties regardless). That said, it IS true that is a funny and "bizarre" mode to play in, so overall, I'll try to be as positive as you in that regard.
