Who even considers SM3DW to not be a 3D platform game? It's factually a 3D environment game, just like SM64, Sunshine, & SMG. So far, I have seen atleast two that have said this. Sure the "rules" are like the 2D Mario games, but it's still a 3D-space game, undeniable. Has the salt gone that far?

    It feels like a 2D Mario, but you can move around in 3D space. So yeah, technically it is a 3D Mario game, even if it doesn't follow the conventions of past games from 64 to Galaxy 2.

    Games like the New Super Mario Bros series are all 2D/2.5D. Just because the rules are the same, doesn't keep it a 2D game. I'm not moving just left and right in World. (this is not directed at you, just in general)
