    With most weapons, you must jump off from a ledge onto the monster and aerial attack it to start a mount. With the glaive, you can perform a jump attack from anywhere, as well as with the lance. You can also climb on a wall and jump attack from there as well with any weapon.

    Most people forget to stop stabbing with the X or A button and hold down the R button when the monster trys to buck them off. Then they end up flying through the air...
