    Go through single player first. You'll be hitting a wall in the higher ranks if you skip it entirely. Upgrade your Wyporium(you'll figure out what that is fast) as much as possible. Don't skip/mash through text. 1) It's really charming. 2) It has really useful info. Always carry materials to combine and AT LEAST Book of Combos 1 and 2 for better rates. Honey... farm for it... A LOT.

    Use the Wyporium to farm for the Honey, it's simple. Expeditions, early game, pretty pointless, unless you desperately need Caravan points. WEAR FULL SETS OF ARMOR FROM THE SAME MONSTER, each piece grants points to a certain skill, once a point threshold is reached (typically +10), you get grant a skill. Early game, it is essential to have full sets of armor unless you know what you're doing

    Play patiently, watch the monster, go in when you see a large opening or an opening you feel comfortable with to punish the monster. Have fun! Don't get frustrated, don't think, "Why can't I do this!" Instead think, "What can I do to improve against this beastie."

    Through the Guild Quests you get through expeditions, you get more abrasives to polish the weapons/armor.
