I have this headcanon that Super Smash Bros is a fighting tournament put on by the Hands where they gather participants from all different worlds and then bring them into a specifically built colosseum thingo.

    Part of that headcanon is that one day while scouting for new fighters, Crazy Hand found an old forgotten R.O.B. toy and was sort of all like "Can we keep him?" And so, they fixed him up, and now R.O.B., the last of his kind, lives with the Hands and participates in the tournament. As part of his programming, he just wants to make people happy (hence the Buddy in Robotic Operating Buddy).
