I can tell you why I want it, at least. He is a classic Nintendo villain, he has great potential to be a unique fighter, he is a heavyweight (a lacking category in Smash), and he is another rep from the Donkey Kong series, which is underrepresented in Smash.

I see.I guess i'm the only person who's been milked dry of seeing mario and his affiliates. It's time they bring shredder and splinter to the cast, along with the double dragon twins, shadow boss, battletoads, shinobi, the super ninja ryu hayabusa himself.Because they too started off as an original NES titles and more cooler than half the people they be putting on the game(jigglypuff,r.o.b,rosalina).

I agree there are enough Mario characters in SSB4. Same goes for Pokemon and Fire Emblem. However, K. Rool a DKCounrty character. He has nothing to do with Mario. About the characters you suggest, nearly all of them are random suggestions and few of them may actually deserve a place in SSB. 1. Shredder and Splinter: Not only they aren't the main characters of their series, but they are...

...comic book characters, not video game characters. 2. Double Dragon twins, they are a classic, but they are not big enough to be in SSB. 3. Shadow Boss, Super Ninja and Shinobi, really? 4. Battletoads, they are as impossible as Banjo. They are owned by Microsoft now. 5. Ryu Hayabusa: The only good and possible suggestion in your list.

Remember that third party characters must be on the level or close to the likes of Snake, Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man.

ive never put much in researching who and why they pick the characters they do.I'm just going off from what are original titles from the nes, snes, sega genesis, etc. consoles.I've never played or heard of fire emblem before ssb2.Let me tell you i would rather play double dragon before fire emblem anyday.lol

I never understood why make young link into toon link; Why they put people they take off from previous installment back on the roster, instead of just keeping them and just adding more characters.

One more thing,How is pikmin on here. Now i admit,on the ngc, pikmin was a decent game. But he does not deserve to be on this game and that's just the flat out truth.

Well I believe Young Link was made into Toon Link for a couple of reasons. One, he looks very different from adult Link; and two, the toon version of young Link has appeared in more games than the OoT/MM version.

About Olimar, I disagree. The Pikmin series is a very unique and charming series. It's beloved among Nintendo fans and it was one of the most memorable new IPs of the GameCube. It is a first party made by Miyamoto. Plus, Olimar makes up for a very unique fighter as well.

sometimes i thank people forget that this game is something to celebrate Nintendo characters and it's affiliation with other 3rd party characters, such as simon belmont from castlevania from konami, vote belmont and you will not have to fear the dark again!

Actually, SSB is about Nintendo characters first and foremost. However, the third party characters that appear as guests must be iconic video game characters and have a special past with Nintendo. Simon Belmont fits that description and I would love to see him in SSB. But, unfortunately, Nintendo and Konami don't have a good relationship today, so sadly I don't think that would happen.

@kloudy- I absolutely agree. Double Dragons, Battletoads, Ninja Turtles were just a few of the many great beat-em-ups back then. Double Dragons was the first beat-em-up I ever played. I miss the days when the video game industry wasn't obsessed with first-person shooters.
