Splatoon not having voice chat is one of the many issues people have with Nintendo and the Wii u. Nintendo needs to stop limiting their consumers.

    I'm guessing nintendo is thinking that if they allow voice chat there will be people like the ones on Xbox live. You know swearing and teasing everyone which sucks. They had to ruin it for us normal gamers.

    @Pico there are always people like that around. If you run into run, then mute them, but omitting it is not a good solution. They could have voice chat where it's set to off until you turn it on. Parental controls could have also been use for the kids. I still blame Nintendo for not implementing voice chat.

    Do you really want it? It would be exactly like Xbox Live with swearing, racial slurs, and immature kids. Just use Skype if you're playing with your friends.

    @Connor not everyone are obnoxious as you think. In my experience, I've met more people who used voice chat for socializing or coordinating purposes than people who were what you described. As for my friends, they don't own a Wii u.

    Trust me, no one playing Splatoon will be coordinating at all. It's gonna be a casual game, nobody is going to be using tactical call outs. Those who do want to take it seriously, will communicate through other means. Nintendo knows it's not gonna be COD or Battlefield. That's why they are leaving it out.

    @Connor you don't even know that and that still leaves the matter of them not letting us socialize. Either way, this was a bad move and gives more reasons for people to not buy a Wii u since Nintendo keeps limiting their consumers. Also, I've seen indie games with voice chat and I doubt they thought it will compete with more popular mainstream games. So what's the excuse for Nintendo?

    Really? Not having voice chat on one game makes people not like Nintendo? Look they gave us Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Star Fox, F Zero, Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Smash, and so much more? People wont care that Splatoon doesn't have voice chat because that's not what Nintendo's about.

    @Connor look at the bigger picture. People have been annoyed with Nintendo not fully embracing online. This and many other situations show Nintendo's mindset and we are getting tired of it. There are many reasons as to why people are disliking nintendo and this is one of them.

    If there was voice chat someone would just be yelling into their mic like this: "SOMEONE HELP IM GETTING OVERRUN BY BY THE OTHER TEAM!" And nobody likes to hear someone yelling into their mic like that.

    @Stephan not everyone yells and if that happens and you don't like it, then mute them. They could easily make it where it's set to off by default and you have to turn it on to use it. Again, there's no excuse to omit this standard feature.
