Where to begin on this one... It's much shorter than Oracle of Ages as there is only one Overworld instead of two, though there is Subrosia which is like a Sub-Overworld is mostly a hub-like area. It's Gameplay, like OOA, takes many of it's mechanics from Link's Awakening, though that's not a bad thing mind you.

    One problem I have with this Game is how you change the Seasons. After you gain access to the full Rod of Seasons, you still need to jump on Stumps to change Seasons and heading to the wrong area may undo the Season you picked. At least in OOA, the Harp of Ages has a tune that let's you warp between Time Periods from anywhere. It would've been nice if the Rod of Seasons had a similar function.

    All that said, it's a great game and the idea that areas in the Overworld change depending on what Season it is was a nice mechanic. As for the Overworld Map itself, it's a bit more streamlined and easy to navigate. The Dungeons are also a bit easier to navigate than OOA's. If you have both OOS and OOA, I'd recommend playing this one first before OOA as it serves a good warm-up for OOA.
