As an experiment I fought my 136 Apex Deviljho solo with dual blades and ridiculous evasion. 30 minutes in I had failed the quest but had knocked him out of Apex 3 times and taken his tail. I did not prep at all with items and only healed when he left the room so my faints were avoidable to an extent.

    I think in an even semi competent group, with traps, healing items, and meats this time, it would go well. I doubt even as aggressive as I was I'd have managed to win before time ran out had I prepped properly. But I'm looking forward to doing this in a group now.

    Oh yeah, I need 2 styngian lashes to even finish upgrading the duals I used. I'll do that first and hone them. Been learning this monster the grass roots way. My normal weapon, the switch axe was to big and often bounced when I missed by even a little. The duals land clean hits!
