    It's a common bug. Fortunately Mega Mewtwo Y's ability will still eliminate the non-evolved Mewtwos. Mewstwo. M- anyway.

    Screw Mewtwo. It will remain buggy after the 10 patches that didn't bother on it. Slowbro is going to be my definite pick for this stage.

    I'm pretty sure the bug is with the level queueing the Pokémon in advance, not with Mewtwo himself. Although if this does bypass the bug, Mega Slowbro should be able to crew through those blocks nicely.

    Well, it's worse for Mewtwo, because its Mega Effect doesn't affect its own non-Mega Evolved icons, which is a real hassle.
