    Captain Toad is not the same Toad, and the species of Toad was introduced in the original Super Mario Bros., and the actual character, Toad, first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2.

    People lemme help yall regular toad was introduced in the first super mario bros when princess peach was known as princess toadstool then when super mario galaxy 1 and 2 came along they brought put toadet , the blue and white geeky toad and more including captin toad therefore he was brought out to the public when y get the 3rd power star in super mario galaxy youre welcome ;-)

    Im a real nintendo fan and 1 more thing captin toad also made a very quick apperance in paper mario when you enter a building theres a poster with captin toad on it hes red and wnite wearing a head light its very bright shining at a gold coin

    Toadette first appeared in one of the Mario Kart games as an unlockable character. I think it was the gamecube one. In SMB Toad was called a Mushroom Retainer. In SMB2 Toad had blue spots on his turban.
