    Really? Ok then. But I don't desire a plate at this time. I will still capture. In MH3U, capturing was the best way to aquire rare materials. That seems to have changed for MH4U.

    Yeah, this game's much less on the "cap for rares" rule. To the point where only the Raths, Khezu, Seltas Queen, and Brachydios are undeniably better capped for rares. Everything else either has better chance from carves, can't drop the rare from caps, can't be capped, or has 4 carves to balance out the slightly higher chance from cap.

    I've always slayed my monsters majority of the time on every mh game i've played and seemingly got rares better or at the same time as i would have with capturing. But if it seem like slaying isn't netting me anything i desire then i try capturing.
